The default domain is used to stamp messages from addresses that do not have a domain. An SMTP virtual server must have one default domain. This default domain cannot be deleted.
By default, the name specified on the Computer Name tab of the System tool in Control Panel is used as the default domain name. You can also specify a unique name to use as the default domain for the SMTP Service.
To rename the default domain, follow these steps:
| 1. | Start Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager or open the IIS snap-in. |
| 2. | Expand Server_name, where Server_name is the name of the server, and then expand the SMTP virtual server that you want (for example, Default SMTP Virtual Server). |
| 3. | Click Domains. |
| 4. | In the right-pane, right-click the default domain, and then click Rename. |
| 5. | Type the name that you want, and then press ENTER. |
| 6. | Quit IIS Manager or close the IIS snap-in. |

This tool launches Outlook and automatically enters the password needed to connect to the Exchange server.
The first time you launch OutlookAutologin.exe, it asks you to enter the password. This password is then saved and will be automatically used each time you launch Outlook via OutlookAutologin.exe.
To change the password, delete the file C:\Documents and Settings\<your login>\Application Data\OutlookAutologin\config.dat and launch OutlookAutologin.exe again.
This tool works with Outlook 2003.
Warning: this tool is not compatible with standard security rules. But it simplifies a bit your life…
Basically what you should do is to enable the Recipient Filtering functionality to block emails addressed to invalid recipients.
In this manner emails will be rejected immediately without generating an NDR.
You can only do this if Exchange is receiving internet email directly.
If you have the Ex2007 Edge Transport go to:
Microsoft Exchange | Edge Transport | Anti-Spam
Otherwise for Ex2007 Hub Transport install the anti-spam agents:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555924
Next go to:
Microsoft Exchange | Organization Configuration | Hub Transport | Anti-Spam
Open the properties for Recipient Filtering and tick the checkbox:
‘Block messages sent to recipients not listed in the Global Address List’
