For example, if you do not know the administrator account<\/p>\n<p>passphrase, or if a power interruption causes damage to the Fireware XTM OS, you can restore the XTM 2<\/p>\n<p>Series device to the factory default settings and build your configuration again.<\/p>\n<p>To set the XTM 2 Series device to the factory default settings:<\/p>\n<p>1. Disconnect the power supply.<\/p>\n<p>2. Press and hold the<\/p>\n<p>3. Connect the power supply while you continue to depress the<\/p>\n<p>4. Continue to depress the button until the<\/p>\n<p>successfully restored to the factory default settings.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\">Reset <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\">button on the back of the device.<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\">Reset <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\">button.<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\">Attn <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\">indicator stays lit. This shows that the device was<\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-It; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-It; font-size: x-small;\">This process can take 75 seconds or more.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\">You must start the device again before you can connect to it. If you do not, when you try to connect to<\/p>\n<p>the device, a web page appears with the message, \u201cYour device is running from a backup copy of<\/p>\n<p>firmware.\u201d This message also appears if the<\/p>\n<p>continue to see this message, check the<\/p>\n<p>5. Disconnect the power supply.<\/p>\n<p>6. Connect the power supply again.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Bold; font-size: x-small;\">Reset <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\"><span style=\"font-family: MyriadPro-Regular; font-size: x-small;\">button is stuck in the depressed position.
