By default, the profile resides in the following location:\n<div class=\"indent\">%SystemDrive%\\Users\\<var>UserName<\/var><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start<\/strong>, type <span class=\"userInput\">regedit<\/span> in the <strong class=\"uiterm\">Start Search<\/strong> box, and then press ENTER.\n<div class=\"kb_nowrapper\">\n<div><span class=\"kb_collapsetext_close\">Collapse this image<\/span><span class=\"kb_expandtext\">Expand this image<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click <strong class=\"uiterm\">Continue<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the following registry subkey:\n<div class=\"indent\">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\ProfileList<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Under the ProfileList subkey, delete the subkey that is named <var>SID<\/var>.bak.\n<p><strong>Note <\/strong><var>SID<\/var> is a placeholder for the security identifier (SID) of the user account that is experiencing the problem. The <var>SID<\/var>.bak subkey should contain a ProfileImagePath registry entry that points to the original profile folder of the user account that is experiencing the problem.<\/li>\n<li>Exit Registry Editor.<\/li>\n<li>Log off the system.<\/li>\n<li>Log on to the system again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After you log on to the system, the profile folder is re-created.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To resolve this problem, follow these steps: Log on to the system by using an administrative user account other than the user account that is experiencing the problem.
